How it works
Exercise Their Mind and Body
CleverPet’s 12 challenges advance automatically depending on your dog’s progress. The challenges start off easy, but they remain just difficult enough to keep your dog busy and out of trouble for hours each day. You can leave the house with peace of mind knowing that your pup has an outlet for all that energy.
Stay Connected All Day
Available on iPhone and Android, the CleverPet app keeps you connected with your best friend even when you’re away. When you aren’t home to watch your pup play, you can track their progress as they solve increasingly complex puzzles.
Unleash Your Best Friend’s Intelligence
CleverPet’s team of scientists developed the Hub as a tool untap the incredible cognitive potential of your dog. With over 20 years in combined PhD experience in automated animal training, they’ve used data from their studies to turn your home into an all-day interactive playground and develop your pet’s advanced problem solving abilities.
The Basics of Learning the Hub
Getting Comfortable
From the time the Hub arrives at your doorstep, your dog will begin to approach and explore the Hub until it becomes a familiar part of their routine.
Getting Curious
Your dog will actively explore the Hub and begin to associate it with food and treats. Your pup may scratch, stare, sniff, or bark at the Hub. All of these are signs of your pup’s piqued curiosity.
Touching the Touchpads
Through trial and error, your pup’s exploration will become more targeted towards the touchpads. Your dog will learn that pressing the buttons results in a reward.
Seeing the Lights
It can take some time, but through daily learning, your dog will begin to differentiate between lit and unlit touchpads! Once your dog recognizes that the lights “mean something”, they’ll be ready for more advanced challenges.
FAQs
Will the Hub be a good fit for my dog?
read answerWe’ve seen dogs of all ages and sizes find success with the Hub, but they all have two things in common: they’re food motivated and open to new experiences! If your dog lives for every bite of kibble and is always looking for a new opportunity to explore, your dog will love the Hub.
What kind of food can the Hub use?
read answerThe Hub requires dry kibble or kibble-like treats which are smaller than a dime (about 18mm). If your dog isn’t into kibble, we recommend cheerios or chopped baby carrots for a low-calorie snack.
Can my cat use the Hub?
read answerYes! We’ve seen many other species successfully using the Hub including (but not limited to): cats, elephants, foxes, ferrets, servals, donkeys, and pigs. Keep in mind that the Hub was designed primarily for dogs and cats, so you should carefully supervise other species when using the Hub.
If you are an animal behaviorist who is looking to use the Hub for your zoo’s enrichment program, please call us - we’d love to be in touch!
How many games are there?
read answerRight now there are twelve challenges for the CleverPet Hub which scale in difficulty and advance automatically based on your dog’s skill level.
As we create new games, they’ll be downloaded to your Hub automatically for free!
Can my dog break the Hub?
read answerNope. We’ve seen dogs from 4 to 160 pounds use the Hub, and to date, no dog has been able to use brute force to get any food from it. It’s just that durable!
What’s required to use the Hub?
read answerAn energetic, food motivated dog
Wi-Fi connection
iPhone or Android smartphone (Some android phones are incompatible for set-up. Click here to make sure your phone will work.)
In order to use the Hub, you’ll need the following:
Does the Hub work for more than one dog?
read answerThe current version of the CleverPet Hub is optimized to support one dog, and if multiple dogs use the same Hub they will have to share one profile, at least for now. As a result, tracking level progression and food intake won't be quite as exact as if one dog is using the Hub.
With that said, we've had many homes with multiple dogs use one Hub without a problem. We've even heard from customers with dogs who have different attitudes and learning styles combine their strengths to advance through the levels!
Ultimately, whether your dogs will do well sharing the Hub depends on their personalities, and you know them better than anyone else!
Is the Hub safe?
read answerYes! We're a team of animal lovers, and safety is top priority for us. The Hub is built with sensors that sense even the slightest pressure and back off (sort of like elevator doors, but more sensitive).
